September 11, 2001 began like any other day in New York City. Many people remember the beauty of the clear blue sky that morning, which later became the backdrop of the horrific attacks that tragic day. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks and for nine long months, first responders, emergency personnel, construction workers, and volunteers came from all over to help our city when we needed them most. Their tireless service helped all of us begin to heal.

Your participation helps commemorate the victims of 9/11, honor the first responders, and shows how we are all connected under the same big sky. You can honor all those killed by sharing stories and affirming the sense of community we shared in the aftermath of the attacks so future generations will never forget.

To mark the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 in 2021, we launched The Never Forget Fund to further our educational mission. So far, we’ve reached over 4 million students, educators, professional audiences, and community members including:

• 4 million participants in our 9/11 Anniversary Digital Learning Experience from all 50 states and more than 60 countries

• 54,000 students attending on-site workshops

• 20,000 educators taking part in professional development opportunities, special events, and education partnerships

• 24,000 students joining our virtual field trips

As the country’s principal institution concerned with exploring 9/11, documenting its impact, and examining its continuing significance, we rely on the generosity of donors like you to support our ongoing mission to educate a new generation.
