Foreign Dignitaries Pay Respects at Memorial, Museum
Foreign dignitaries from France and Israel recently paid their respects at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
On Wednesday night, President of Israel Reuven Rivlin laid a wreath on the memorial’s panel honoring victims of Flight 93 and paid tribute to 9/11 victims at the Survivor Tree. Also present were Consul General of Israel Ido Aharoni and Deputy Cousul General of Israel Amir Sagie.
Last week, France’s State Secretary for European Affair Harlem Désir honored French victims at the memorial and was given a tour of the museum by 9/11 Memorial President Joe Daniels.
Désir also left a message at the steel beam signing exhibition in the museum’s Foundation Hall, writing “We will remember and fight against terror, barbary and hatred for freedom in memory, together France and the U.S.”
