The View: A photograph of a veteran placed in the Survivor Tree at the 9/11 Memorial on Jan. 13, 2012. On it is a handwritten note that reads: “My son serves in Afghanistan today because of this.” This week, the 9/11 Memorial Museum will honor our nation’s veterans as a part of a five-day Salute to Service.
