25th Anniversary Commemoration

At the center of the mission of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum is the annual commemoration ceremony. Family members of the victims will gather on the Memorial plaza to read aloud the names of those killed in the 9/11 attacks and in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum leads the nation, and the world, in marking the anniversary of the day that changed our lives forever.

The 25th anniversary commemoration ceremony will take place on the Memorial plaza and focus on an in-person reading of the names by family members. Throughout the ceremony, we will observe seven moments of silence, acknowledging when each of the World Trade Center towers was struck and fell, the times of the attack on the Pentagon and the crash of Flight 93, and to honor those who lost their lives to 9/11-related illness and injury in the years since.

The Museum will also be open exclusively to 9/11 family members. Instructions about how to make a Museum reservation will be included in the letter you receive in August. The letter will also include additional details about the commemoration and an official invitation to the ceremony on the Memorial plaza.
