Executive Vice President, Chief Advancement & Communications Officer

Josh Cherwin currently serves as the executive vice president and chief advancement and communications officer at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum where he is responsible for managing the organization’s private fundraising initiatives, events, and Museum membership programs, as well as the institution's marketing and communications efforts to support visitation, donation, and program participation.

Prior to this, he served as executive director of the New York State Democratic Senate Campaign Committee, overseeing statewide fundraising, political, and campaign strategy on behalf of the New York State Senate Democratic Conference.

From 2000 to 2008, Cherwin served in various roles for former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, most recently as special advisor. He is a graduate of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Cherwin currently resides in Manhattan with his wife, Gina, and two daughters.
