Steel, Stars and Stripes is a polyptych sculpture with three sets of hinged panels. The first panels opened, titled The Fall, represent the collapse of twin towers. As first-responders look through the smoke and dust upon the collapsed towers, they see piles of twisted steel, wire, glass, concrete, and floating paper where two of the tallest building in the world once stood. An unimaginable site seared into the hearts of millions.
