This was painted from a small NYT photo of Father Judge and ,as an Artist ,reminded me of the classical deposition paintings.
The background remained smoky as painting this image made it difficult to breathe.
At the time I gifted a print of it to the Mayors Office. Giuliani made it part of his collection
