9/11 Museum Receives Award of Merit
The 9/11 Memorial Museum received a 2014 Award of Merit from the Museum Association of New York earlier this month.
According to MANY’s website, the award recognizes “outstanding contributions to the field and overall innovation and excellence.” The Awards of Merit program aims to reward the efforts of staff members and volunteers and encourage innovative work in the Museum community.
Six projects in New York state received the award and four additional projects earned Certificates of Commendation.
The awards will be presented at a breakfast at MANY’s annual conference in Corning, N.Y. on April 13, 2015.
Also among the winners: an exhibit at the Chemung County Historical Society, and staff members from the Hofstra University Museum and the FASNY Museum of Firefighting.
