After 9/11, 45 percent of terrorism cases are thought to have involved online radicalization. In 2017, that number increased to 90 percent. How do groups like ISIS attract and recruit people in Western nations? Is it possible to rehabilitate radicalized individuals and reverse their indoctrination? Daniel Koehler, founder and director of the German Institute on Radicalization and De-Radicalization Studies, discusses answers to these timely questions.
