A compilation of two images and events. I painted the bottom half of the picture from life on my roof in August 2001(with a small nod towards Vermeer's View of Delft). 9/11 changed the landscape and very air of the city for some time so I felt compelled to paint a memory image of the event suspended in the air in the top half of the painting some months afterwards.
