The central focus of the painting is the blood-red lines radiating from the three sites representing the initial destruction and horror of the 9/11 attacks. The flag is black and white and the surface of each of the three sections is covered with shattered and protruding broken glass. Even the frame, with its distressed paint application, is a representation of the shock of that day. The two follow on painting in this series are also shown.
