Description

This was done by using my watercolor painting as a frame for the typed version of my poem by tearing the watercolor and arranging the typed poem into the center. I had the idea for this poem almost right after 9/11 but although it is a short poem, it took almost a full year to complete the writing of it because I wanted it to be worded just right or at least what I felt was just right. The Statue of Liberty is in New York City, but the jagged spike - like marks that the Flight 93 airliner made in the field in PA resembled the spikes of her crown, a fitting tribute to the heroes of Flight 93. I framed this poem in 2005.
