When I was making Shed (September 11, 2001), another piece of mine you can see on this database, I collected all the tears that I cut out of a piece of paper to make that piece. With those tears, I made Blossom (Shed Reborn), the title referencing the previous piece but also its rebirth. Although the events of September 11th were devastating and unprecedented, life does, and must, go on. So Blossom (Shed Reborn) is a piece about creating something new from loss, about rebirth and new life.
