This painting shows another group of people walking north, away from the World Trade Towers. I used some of the hundreds of portraits I have drawn of subway riders to create this crowd of people. Again, it was most impressive to see how well people were behaving during this terrible day. I included a portrait of a mother holding her child. The child is oblivious to the enormity of what has happened, and the mother is protecting her, taking her to safety, while the firemen walk toward the burning towers.
