Thank you Cynthia for asking me to take part in the ten-year anniversary, 9-11 commemoration. Participating in The Freedom Quilt Experience and your design has blessed me in many ways. Through quilting, there is opportunity for storytelling while healing, remembering while imparting hope for the future of our loved ones, country, and world- wide communities.

The tragedies of 9-11 will never be forgotten. I remember where I was and what I was doing when New York, Arlington and Shanksville were attacked. Unfathomable pain, sorrow and despair radiated throughout the country and impacted us all. Through this experience I learned to be watchful, yet not to forget to love while we yet have time. It is important to keep living, rising, growing and creating a better future for our children. My thoughts while I created my panel came from Isaiah 61:2-4 which reads in part,
