Towering Angels, by Kathy Ruth Neal
"This piece came to Kathy Ruth in a dream. She felt she was led to create it, saying an angel was showing her to place a bright yellow frame around the figures. Kathy Ruth looked online at firefighter uniforms to make it accurate. She used me as a model for one of the businesswomen carrying a briefcase and having wings, showing that I was being taken, as a victim, up to heaven. The other figures, Asian, African-American, Hispanic, were all winged business people representing humankind being taken to heaven. We brainstormed for a title while swimming in my office swimming pool one Wednesday evening (as was our routine). "Towering Angels" was the result."
