This song was written in 2006 as a tribute to my late father. He was saddened by the untimely death of FDNY firefighter John Santore. My dad had grown up in New Brighton, Staten Island, NY with Dominick Santore, John's father. John was a faithful family man, a firecracker of a firefighter, and a volunteer and chief carpenter at the John Noble Maritime Museum at Sailors Snug Harbor.
