Description

This painting is influenced by the likes of master illustrator and painter, Norman Rockwell, and modern day master, Rob Gonsalves. My 9/11 tribute painting took roughly a year and a half of insight and planning, and only three months of execution and painting. The story line is pretty straightforward and it is my intention to let the viewer create his or her own narrative, but for what it is worth, here is a perspective of this painting from the creator's point of view.

I believe this quote from Abraham Lincoln conveys the underlying message in regards to my 9/11 Tribute: "I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leaves you only the cherrished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of freedom. Yours, very sincerely and respectfully, Abraham Lincoln."

This painting of mine is simply titled, Never Forget.
