“Turbulence” was conceived as a companion piece to “Phoenix”which dealt with the destruction and resurrection of the World Trade Center. “Phoenix”, being a much larger canvas, represents controlled and organized chaos. “Turbulence” was painted in a much freer and flowing style using just three acrylic colors and Gesso in watercolor technique. Whereas the title fits the outcome of the painting, its oriental feel gives it a certain calming appeal.
