I am an American who was living in Venice, Italy on September 11th. In the following days I purchased as many newspapers as I could find that explained what was going on. I began cutting out images of those who lost their lives that day and making a collage of all their faces on my apartment wall. I then painted on top of, and around those images, creating a series of paintings that depict, War at Home. This was the first in that series.

If you were to Xray this painting, you would see the faces of many of the victims of that day.
