It seems that America has seen some tough times recently. ...from 9-11 and through the Great Recession. It's enough to make us question our country's strength to endure. But those who came before have experienced hard times as well.... and we have always come through.
This piece is a flag made from metal ...it is torn and ripped... it has memories of chains used as shackles and those who succumbed to gold-fever. The metal wraps around on the left side where we see a glimmer of the original 13 stars. These stars, on the flag, become more numerous as the story unfolds. And... through it all we are reminded that we have and will stay together...bound as One Nation.
