Description

"If Only" (In Memory 9/11) was written following broadcast of a TV documentary entitled "Voices of The Towers." Families and lovers, the bereaved described how important these last farewell messages from loved-ones trapped inside the towers were, and what they meant to them. The song was composed from such messages, the story of a farewell to a lover received after the collapse and found later on a telephone answering machines. When asked if I feel it is "appropriate to write such a heart rendering song out of such horrific circumstance" I can answer only this: What these people went through must not be forgotten, nor must their own stories. If the families of victims find solace in hearing, keeping and treasuring such final voices, then that itself is enough.

If Only was originally released in 2010 on the album "And All the Kings Horses, AKA BLINK." Its first public radio broadcast was later, during a BBC Radio interview with Steve, BBC Radio Leeds, UK - On the day of the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Following the opening of the 9/11 Memorial Museum in 2014, this new video was commissioned and completed by students of The American College Arcus, Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria (Dimitar Slavov & Yavor Kraychev). It features the names of all whom died. You may download the song "If Only" FREE here: http://soundcloud.com/jonathantaylorbulgaria/if-only-in-memory-9-11
