My name is Scott Norris and I am a Captain with the Saanich Fire Department in Victoria, British Columbia.

On September 10, 2001, I had just finished recording a song titled "Laying it on the Line". I wrote this song for the men I work with to say thank-you and recognize the work we do as firefighters.

I had no idea that a higher power was behind this song. One day later the tragedy of 9/11 occurred. I now know it was no coincidence this song was recorded when it was.
