Acrylic painting on Canvas. I started this painting in 2003 and finished it in January 2016. I was originally trying to paint into the painting the faces of the victims of the 9/11 attack, but that was not working as I worked on the painting. In working on the painting, I saw faces in the pigment that was already on the canvas. I tried to bring those faces out and highlight them. At different distances, the viewer can see different faces. I hope and pray that my feeble art effort is worthy of the innocent souls whose lives were so horribly taken, and who became unwilling martyrs to our democratic principles and beliefs.
