TWIN SISTERS -( Marie “Beth” Franco)

Twin sisters lost in the sunset,
Their footprints are all that remain.
Their tears we collect where the ground wept.
Proud shadows that comfort our pain.

The sun - rises on the horizon,
As a crisp cool September returns.
Bells toll for names unforgotten,
with whispers of memories    yearned.

Days turn to years, time surpasses.
The clock- it keeps ticking away.
Yet somehow it never escapes us,
What we did - where we were that day.

Twin sisters, they’ll tower forever.
Together they’ll  stand side by side.
On a harbor alongside a lady,
Who’ll watch over with honor and pride.

... we all remember that day.

Description

A poem I wrote for 9/11

20 years....countless moments of silence,
A thousand tears- of eternal remembrance.
Never forget,
remember forever,
What we lost on that crisp, clear blue day in September...
