Hommage to the Souls of September 11th 2001
... all saved Souls in ONE

September 11th 2001

Early afternoon in Hamburg - Grafic-Design-Atelier, the TV-set is running. One of these typical fall-afternoons with bright sun, the leaves of the trees turning to all kind of colors.

We could not really believe what we saw. One tower of WTC was already burning - clouds of smoke. What was going on? An attack on the USA - another war coming? All labor stopped.

Then we saw the second plane smashing into the second tower. It seemed not to be real - but is was. And slowly, very slowly creeped something into the minds of the spectators: there is something horrible going on. It is not only about a building - it's about real people - being in the towers - alone - desperate - something we could not really imagine - but we knew - this now was true - real - and we were all hoping - some praying - that these people would be rescued by helicopters - by whatever was possible - that all should be saved.

Then - the Southtower - the second one attacked - smashed down. We saw it on the screen - we couldn't do anything about it. It was quiet - nobody spoke a word. The whole cathastrophy became a reality now in our minds. We now knew - the people were not saved - all there was: a growing cloud of dust - a sign on the heavens over New York - over the Statue of Liberty.

Nobody was able to tell something - we sensed grieve for the victims of that terror attack - and nobody had an idea what would happen next - besides the grieve - an uncertain fear was creeping out of the unknown and the grey clouds of Ground Zero into our minds...

In the late afternoon I received an e-mail:

"atrocity"

This is the one of the worst things
that could have ever happened to America.
Whoever is responsible for this is CRAZY!
I pray for anyone who was touched
by this atrocity.....
Sending all my good will and wishes to those families.

We are very shocked here in Germany - just saw the pictures live here at noon. And I think nearly everybody is thinking and praying for everybody involved. It seams to be "far" away - but is a war against the whole civilized world. As I got your mail - I just thought "love your enemies" - there is no other way to get to an end:

Matt 5:43-48
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Its time to be inspired by the true wisdom in these words

God bless You and America and the whole Earth

Helmut
