Today marks the 25th anniversary of the bombing of the the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, which killed 168 people.

In remembrance of the victims, and to honor the connection forged between first responders in Oklahoma City and following 9/11, the New York Knicks’ annual first responder night on March 6 featured a special on-court moment with the visiting team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

That evening, the Thunder wore their commemorative city edition jersey, which honors the 25th anniversary of the bombing. 9/11 Memorial & Museum President and CEO Alice M. Greenwald and the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum Executive Director Kari Watkins were brought out onto the court to exchange team jerseys, to symbolize the personal connection between the bombing and 9/11. After 9/11, many survivors and family members from Oklahoma City came to New York City to counsel survivors, family members, and recovery workers.
