Statement of Work
As a former New Yorker and now a local Miami artist, I sat in front of my television set the morning of Sept. 11, 2001 watching in disbelief as the horrific events unfolded before my eyes. Having a family member spared from this terrible tragedy prompted me to express my profound sorrow and empathy for others who did not survive. Having made collages since my high school days back in Brooklyn, it was a perfect medium for me. Creating and assembling these 6 collages was a painful, emotional time filled with great anxiety. it took nearly 9 months to finish them, which when completed, began a healing process for myself.

A former New Yorker and graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, Lorelei now resides in Miami, Florida.
After working in the corporate world for nearly 30 years, she pursued her dreams of being an artist and a writer. Besides creating other collages, she is the creator of "Lorelei's Mermaids" - original handmade whimsical mermaids made out of clay. As both artist and salesperson, she travels the local craft circuit in Miami.
In 2001, her first article, "Seasoned with Age" was published in "Chocolate for a Teen's Heart" - a collection of short stories. She is also working on "Spiritual" type stories.
