    Statement of Work

I would describe my work as natural, spontaneous free and a reflection of my spirit.

It is abstract; it is inspired by music, which is the centerpiece of my emotional impulses. There are times when I choose a certain color, I wonder why; when a certain brush stroke leads me into the following stroke, I wonder; but, I feel a sense of response to my emotions and a connection with a synopsis of color and form for what I wish the piece to convey. And so, a subliminal dialog between color and form develops in my reactions, it defines my soul, forging the next stroke or color combination.

On occasion, the experiences of life, and the social order, emerge in the formation of certain abstractions that further fulfill my view of beauty and aesthetics. It is this universal combination that allows me to express myself with freedom.

In essence, my palette is a direct response to my emotions and feelings brought about by music and its magic, and the end result is a confection of emotional symbolism in the abstract ready for the viewer to create his own world from the enjoyment of the work.

    Resume

    Biography

Fine Artist Hernan Henry Hirsch is a native of Santiago, Chile. Since his early years his dedication and interests have been wide ranging and far reaching, and continue in that vein today.

While achieving prominence in the engineering world, Mr. Hirsch followed a concurrent path in the art world. He has studied with several masters in the world of abstract painting and music, spending considerable time building his creativity and style. Today, his definition of color and its intensity and direct character are his personal signature in abstract art.

His firm, Hirsch Engineering, is widely acclaimed in the retail industry for its high levels of professionalism and performance, while praise and recognition for his abstract paintings span three continents.

Henry Hirsch is a real Renaissance man. His ability to combine aspects of his various professional backgrounds into a unique artistic expression places him in a category of his own.

Mr. Hirsch received his Masters Degree in Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1966. He continued his ever expanding knowledge as he was conferred his Doctorate in Law in 1998 from Concordia University in California.

Testimonials about the art expression of Henry Hirsch

Much has been said about the art expression of Henry Hirsch:

"In spite of not having had formal education in the arts, his interesting color, form, his passion for music, his balance between the methodic and freedom, form the base for finding a form of expression in which he discharges his emotions and feelings in that subconscious search for an art language of his own".

    Aracelli Ardon, Director,
    State Art Museum,
    Queretaro, Mexico.

"After seeing the presentation's last image, I was shocked to such a point that I was speechless for several minutes. I was mute as I was in Paris, several years ago, when I first saw the special press release of Schindler's list in the presence of Steven Spielberg himself. I think, I believe, I am even sure that your creation belongs to the same category as that of this great film:"

    Franklin Didi,
    Syndicated Journalist.
    Paris, France

"In his search within the media of abstraction, added to the emotional charge derived from the Holocaust, has taken him into an attempt in his own language to honor the victims of such historic disaster"

    Leonardo Nierman,
    Laureate Artist, Painter, Sculptor
    Mexico City, Mexico

“In the years I have known Henry Hirsch, I have seen him grow from art enthusiast to artist in the true sense of the word. Not just a painter of paintings, Henry creatively, energetically, enthusiastically expresses his soul. He has continued to grow in the development of his unique style showing evermore sensitivity in brush stroke and remarkable integrity in his use of color and composition.”

    Dr. Ben Marxhausen
    Certified International Appraiser
Emeritus of Art Department of Concordia University

“Not long ago the liberation in the art of painting emerged when a group of artists discover that color and form can produce in mankind emotions without necessarily being subservient to nature nor literature, nor philosophy in some measure, closer to the world of music and the temperament of the artist. Masters like Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Mondrian, Miro just to mention a few opened an unlimited breach into dreams and emotions, thus abstract art is born.

Recently, I was awakened by an exhibit of a painter by the name of Henry Hirsch who for many years was known as a great art collector with emphasis in Latin-American art.
Without a doubt his eyes deepened his appreciation for color and with time he approached the brushes and their magic. With his intense introspection of contemporary art and its magic he forged himself into a serious artist, who was creating a world of his own and a language of unlimited suggestions.”
