Statement of Work
My name is Sean Egan I started work at the Waterford Crystal factory in Waterford Ireland in 1974 at the age of 15 years,I began a 10 apprenticeship,iand became a Master engraver at the age of 25,i have done many sports trophies and portrats of people,
When I saw those planes hit the towers and all the fire fighter and police officers running in to the building to save all the people traped inside ,while others were running away to safety and then the building falling down while they were inside,
It was then I decided to do something, but it took me 5 years to think of what to do,it was only when I passed by a broken piece of glass that looked like a church window ready to be recycled
,then it just came to me and i remembered a photo of a priest being carried by some New York city workers.

Sean Egan began his apprenticeship as a cutter with Waterford Crystal in 1974. Having qualified and works as a cutter for some years, Sean decided he would like to train as an engraver.
In 1984 Sean started his 5 year apprenticeship and then spent a further 5 years training to become a Master Engraver. During this time he also attended night school, for 2 years, in the local art college.
Since Waterford Crystal closed in January 2009, Sean has opened his own business as a freelance crystal engraver and is based on the ground floor at Waterford Museum of Treasures.
Sean has worked on many famous trophies such as Players Championship (golf), Cricket World Cup Trophy, Hockenheim Prix Trophy and the Volvo Ocean Race. He also specializes in depicting wildlife scenes and marine life.
Sean has a unique selection of crystal items for sale ranging from smaller items such as perfume bottles, tankards and bud vases to larger vases and bowls. All artwork is designed by Sean and hand engraved by him. Sean specializes in Awards, Sports Trophies, and Presentation pieces. All commissions welcome.
