Coming to grips with the events of that day, and going through a wide range of emotions. I wanted to make a statement through my art, something that would speak to the masses. Something that would let them feel their own emotions of it all, without being political or overbearing. It took nearly seven years to do so. I chose our Lady of the Harbor, the embodiment of our freedom. How did she feel, watching this tragedy unfold before her very eyes. I imagined her ever enduring gaze saddened, sheding a single tear, capturing the the twin towers in its relfection. A date and event, that we as a nation shall never forget. The day When Liberty Wept.
