At the time of 9/11 I went to work as an electrician concerned about my kids first day of school. My personal life was in turmoil and that was the overwhelming sense of my morning, until I saw the first plane hit the tower. I was in the area and rushed to the towers.I never viewed myself as an artist, but after the next two weeks I was moved to create something that represented the horror of the attack as well as the incredible feeling that I had by working at ground zero. I always liked the way the flag looked as a visual but also had apprehensions about the political statement any flag makes. In this case I was sure these people died because we live under the colors of that flag. This is a tribute to the memory of the electricians killed and all the people that died that day.
