    Statement of Work

September morning, September 11, 2001, was a clear blue skied day, the kind that gave me feelings of well being. Then... the atrocity occurred and September was brutally savaged, never to be the same.
The vicious attack on the World Trade Center wrenched my core. This was the city of my childhood, my young adulthood - part of my family lived in Manhattan; my precious grandchildren, my daughter, son in law, friends who worked in the towers. Month's of funerals followed. The odor of death lingered mercilessly. I didn't know how to deal with my feelings of being violated. Then in 2008, two years after moving to Rhode Island, I painted "Sunny Day In September," My memorial to all my New York lost brothers and sisters, and my tribute to America's ability to recover after the shock of 911.
