A MEMORIAL TRIBUTE TO THE FALLEN HEROES OF SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001

This album was created by members of the Long Island community, which was particularly hard hit by the 9/11 disaster as many of its members worked at the World Trade Center. It was intended to bring comfort to the many families affected by this tragedy in time for the holidays that year. It was produced by Mason G. Senft, a Greenvale musician, who, as a member of the Republican Presidential Task Force that year, donated the album to the Republican National Committee. Copies were included in the collections of many of the local libraries on Long Island where they are available for loan. The many professional artists who contributed their time and talents to this project included illustrious Metropolitan Opera stars such as Frederica von Stade as well as community members who, though not professional insofar as they devoted their lives to pursuits other than music, nevertheless desired to share their concern and love for these families through their passion for music. The royalties and production costs were absorbed by the artists and the distribution was effected by December 2001 with acknowledgments from then Mayor Rudy Giuliani and President George W. Bush.
