    Statement of Work

My Dad (Don Coombs) was in the service during the cold war and has always wanted to have my brother and I appreciate the military sacrifices made for the freedom in our country. I just turned 51 and finally have grasped more than ever what he meant. The 911 incident affected us all including my Dad who was inspired to create a dedication by hand crafting this simple bench he made in upstate New York.

The depiction which was hand carved shows the stages of the horrific crashes which include the heroic sacrifices made on the flight to the White House and the beacons of "HOPE" to indicate "We will never forget" and will not be deterred of what is good. I beleive this is the only type of artifact created and the anger, passion and sadness my Dad put into this is unsurpassed.

This bench was made of New York White Pine which was cut by a local saw mill. It's approximately 5 Ft. long, 2 Ft. wide, 3 inches thick and weighing 60 Lbs. To add to the story of this bench, my father was selling his house during the making of this bench when a possible buyer was taken aback by the bench when he first saw it. He was a New York City Police Officer and he thanked my father for the work he saw and also shared he lost an officer and two friends that day in the towers.

We've added some not so good "pics of pics" during the build stages of this bench when he was still in New York.

I thank you Dad for the care and understanding you gave and still give Dan, Maria and I to make sure we understand how great God is to this country and how good we should be back to God and towards each other.

    Thank you Dad, Love, Jerry
