I found writing this poem very inspiring.

I dedicate it to Robert Cordice. He was a fireman for a short time. He lived across the street from me. This poem is posted in fire stations on Staten Island and in Brooklyn. At the 114 Ladder company in Brooklyn, the poem is in the lockers of many firemen. Joe Dunn is a fireman there and I thank him for that.

I live on Staten Island and I have found it a wonderful place to be retired and write poetry.
