    Statement of Work

    “All things contain their opposite”
    - Author Unknown

This is what I am trying to express in paint.

The light contrasted against the dark – good verses evil – the beautiful alongside the darker elements. I want to expose these opposites, which are the essence of life. Rather than painting only the dream I paint the nightmare as well, in all its living color.

Expressionist Ernst Barlach once said, “It is my belief that that which cannot be expressed in words can through plastic form reach another persons’ soul.”

    Sincerely,

    Catherine Jaggi
