    Statement of Work

    The paintings shown reflect a personal journey using art to understand the emotionally gripping tragedy of 9-11 even though experienced only through a camera lens or tv newscasts.

    One haunting and strange aspect of destruction is the inexplicable, mesmerizing sense of awe that is evoked. Working from media sources and trying to identify this elusive fixation, the images are painted with emotionally-charged color, becoming a portrayal of an unbearable tragedy unfolding.
