    Statement of Work

    America’s Colors Never Fade

    Nothing’s the same; everything’s changed
We have shed a sea of tears
    How can it be?
The world we have known, now shattered by hate and fear

Though smoke and sorrow may linger forever
Still through the blackness, our stars and stripes will shine

We won’t forget our darkest day
Our nation’s dreams were swept away
In an instant, peace and innocence were gone
But our pride cannot be torn apart
It’s alive and well within each heart
And through the pain, our faith and hope go on
The red, white, and blue…the flag that freedom made
They can’t take that away; America’s colors never fade

    A new day has come
This country has shown it will not lay down and die
Divided we fall, but together we’ll stand
And heartache will pass us by

Where there is love, there’s a promise of healing
We can build new dreams and learn to live as one

We won’t forget our darkest day
Our nation’s dreams were swept away
In an instant, peace and innocence were gone
We salute the precious lives we lost
We can’t conceive a greater cost
But through the storm, their spirits will live on
But now we gain new strength from the soil beneath our feet
This land is ours to love – this home is ours to keep
The red, white, and blue…the flag that freedom made
They can’t take that away; America’s colors never fade

    Resume

Long before EGB's impressive climb up Power Source's Inspirational Country charts with several of his 2011 singles, he has been recording his original material with consistency and conviction. A soulful singer and electrifying pianist with deep roots in the soil of rock music, he sings and performs with passion and purpose, reflecting his diverse musical influences along the way. He has performed in cities all over the country, including hometown Atlanta, Los Angeles, Nashville, Atlantic City and others. He has performed the National Anthem for the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and in 1996 recorded and released a song called “We Were There” for the Olympic Summer Games. He had another successful single in 1999 with the tearful ballad, “Leanna’s Song (I Guess This is Goodbye),” which he performed on morning shows like Good Day Atlanta and Peachtree Morning – the song was also featured on Star94, an Atlanta pop station. He released a pop/rock LP called “These Scars Are Mine in 2001. After spending the better part of the last decade composing and producing, EGB is busy in the studio once again, finishing not only a Christian Country LP (which will contain his current singles, “Jesus Songs,” “All I Need to Know,” and “When At Last I Make It Home”), but also a double CD of pop/rock material he has been working on periodically since 2002. Erik sings and plays all kinds of songs and makes every one believable and authentic. He also plays a mean electric bass (his principal instrument at Berklee College of Music), acoustic guitar, and even drums. From country to rock, jazz to R&B, Erik lives and breathes for melodies and puts his stamp on all he touches.

His most recent work is a new single called "America's Colors Never Fade," a tribute to the fallen heroes and the survivors of the attack on the United States on 9-11-2001. The song ultimately celebrates the triumph of the human spirit, even in the face of unthinkable adversity.
