I live in the shadow of the World Trade Towers. Before they fell, there was only air between us. I often wondered whether they would land on my high-rise if they fell in my direction. They did. They landed on the whole neighborhood, or at least the remains of them did, the pulverized concrete, the molten steel, the tattered paper, the ashes of the dead.

Here are two pieces of work that I created in response to 9/11: a short essay about life in my neighborhood during the month of September 2001, and a short film about life in my neighborhood 10 years later. Fortunately, a wide chasm exists between the neighborhood of 2001 and 2011.
