Nicola Di Caprio (born in Caserta Italy, lives in Milan and Paris, France) graduated from the Art Institute of San Leucio - Caserta Italy. Has followed courses in Drawing, Painting and Design of Advertising at Central Connecticut State University in Bristol, Connecticut - USA.
The art of Di Caprio discusses and investigates the imagery of popular culture (music, film, literature, etc.) through paintings, collages, installations, sculptures, photographs, performances, actions. His work tends to mix the fluid contemporary life with the symbology of popular codes; a particular attention is given to the world of music as a social and anthropological phenomenon.
He plays drums and percussions and has founded SUPERTESTE (key witness), an "open" musical project that aims to roll only in the circuit of contemporary art: the sound that results is between post-rock, free jazz, avant-garde and noise.
He teaches at IED - Istituto Europeo of Design in Turin Italy the course "Music and Images". He’s a skilled graphic designer and art director.
