Statement of Work
T. A. Blue - artist statement
My acrylics and mixed media work is on wood or canvas and I usually add more texture to the surface via plaster, wood fill, etc. Sometimes I also add other elements, i.e. copper, barbed wire, newspaper headlines, etc. to help get the message across. This creative outlet gives me a means to express my concerns and what is close to my heart and, since I was born and raised in America, they're mostly American issues. However, the way the world is shrinking, I expect the rest of the planet may also relate to the message that's in much of my work. One thing for sure, it's a crazy mixed up world we live in – I think I'm, going to need a lot more paint.
