    Statement of Work

If you never witness the tear, you may never hear the cry…

With each creation I sit in meditation and envision the emotion of only one personality, that of the recipient or perhaps a place. I try to embrace that passion in an effort to take you to a place you have been longing to return, or enchanted by yearning fantasies.
I use mostly domestic wood in contrast to achieve a desirable effect.
I hand pick each piece of lumber for unique grain characteristics that ultimately allow passion to be revealed in one creation only.
While I feel my procedures display the unusual in imagination and concept, I thrive to create compliments of the end users personality while accentuating a final resting place.
Creation is more than simply a job or sport for me, more than anything it’s a type of intimacy revealed that I am allowed to share with the beholder.

    Ramon Gibbs (Artist Bio)

Ramon Gibbs was born in 1958 fatherless in a small poor suburban community just outside Cincinnati, Ohio. He remembers micro farms, shack like homes, some with out-houses, ice deliveries, aluminum milk boxes on front porches, a live chicken delivery truck (they plucked the feathers off) and their own neighborhood dump site.
At the age seven or eight Ramon was intrigued by new building construction. For hours at a time he simply watched. Inspired, he decided to build something, so he started asking for left over nails, wood and other supplies. Of course, like his friends the contractors laugh but gave what they could. He even visited the neighborhood dump site and scrounged for other parts, even discarded furniture. And while other kids where playing he built a two story tree house that had hardwood floors, walls, windows and two doors, a roof with a gutter system that filled a toilet from the dump site and a grand view of the wooded area facing a small lake.
Later, Ramon enrolled in a woodworking class in 7th grade followed by an upholstering class that encompassed refinishing/restoration as well as textile fabrication. Inspired even more he began studying furniture and architectural designs then opened a retail furniture repair and upholstering operation that branched into an upholstery/furniture repair sales and service operation for major commercial hospitality chains in the Midwest USA.
