Living in New York for many years inspired this conteporay impressionist collection. It pays homage to a city that inspires art, music and culture.
Hergis feels that he has captured the exciting nightlife, and embraced the musical ambience and architectural rhythm of the great city of New York.
Unfortunately I was going to launch this collection in the fall, but the terrible 911 happened.The collection looked to controversial, with the wavy buildings so I put it in storage in Maine

Hergis was born in Bogota, Colombia in South America. Growing up with a Cosmetic Chemist as father and Cosmetologist as mother, they deftly guided him into his lifelong career in the beauty industry.
With the encouragement of his father, Hergis began painting as a child. The young artist, “Hergis” a name bestowed upon him by his father, debuted at the age of twelve at Liceo Luna Park, in Bogota.
Hergis continued his studies at the Escuela de Bellas Artes (School of Beautiful Arts) in Colombia. Although he studied many great impressionist masters, it was 19th Century French Pointillist painter, Georges Pierre Seurat that primarily inspired him. Pointillism, a form of Post-Impressionism, refers to a style of brushwork using primary-color dots to generate secondary colors. Based on this influence, he began to develop his own unique style of contemporary modern impressionism.
During his twenties, Hergis worked as a Cosmetologist at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. Discovered there, by Nena Goodman, he gave his first art show in New York City with great success. Consequently, he feels fortunate to have shared his art with many people around the world.
