Songwriters have a way of expressing what they are feeling by the lyrics and music they put in their songs. Just like millions of others, I was totally in shock at the tragedies of September 11, 2001. One of my ways to express what I was feeling was to write this song. In just a few days after the tragedies, I had written this song and performed it live at a local cafe, with a standing ovation. This song, however, is not just about me, it is about all of us, who united together, during a horrible time, to support the survivors, remember those we lost, and “never forget”.
As is stated in the opening of the song “A Nation Is Crying”, this song was written in honor of and as a tribute to, all those who gave so much.
