My work reflects the shared grief and solidarity that we all found as Americans on September 11, 2001. The subject for this work is embodied by the Firemen who selflessly gave of themselves along with so many others to save, and search for those in need.

I intentionally left a rough finish on my sculpture to emphasis the gritty nature of the rescue operation. May all who see this work be encouraged by spirit shown by all who gave, even if it was their life to help others.
