    Statement of Work

This painting, "Columbus Day Marchers, 2001" was produced from images that I took in October of 2001, of the first Columbus day parade that was held after the events of 911. The parade featured the usual military component of young, uniformed men and women in, or preparing for service to their country. This particular image, only manipulated in the colors, and design factors, shows the determination and wariness configured at the time by the event. It was also clear that many young people might soon give their lives for their country.
My closest friend at the time, Bill Biggart, a journalistic photographer, was killed when the second Twin TradeTower collapsed and crushed him along with many firemen.
