9/11 was very emotional for me to go through all the details, even more emotional to see the pictures, videos and read stories about the victims.
During the art show at Gerald Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan I met many people, who were very emotional and had a lot to remember. Everyone there remembered where they where exactly, and what they were doing when the attacks happened.

They told me stories of how someone's daughter was in NYC at a time and there were no phone service. They didn't know what was going on and were terrified until they got a call from her. Some of the people I met came to NYC and NJ with Red Cross to help and support the survivors, but, unfortunately there were not many survivors...

Many people were tearing up and hugging me for painting the 9/11, and keeping their memory alive after 16 years. There was a group of Firefighters, who came to see the painting. They were very emotional. Some of them came to NY to help in 2001, some of them lost their friends.

There was a 10 y.o. boy. I can't forget his eyes and his words. He came to me and said, "I wasn't born in 2001, but I lost my grandfather. 9/11 stole him from me. It didn't give me a chance to meet him." I told him, "There are exactly 2977 candles painted on my 9/11 piece. One candle for each soul. And one of these candles is for your grandfather...You can see how it lights up when the lights go down" The boy became very emotional, and tears came down from his eyes.

This piece means a lot to me. There are people who want to own this painting, who want to buy it, but I feel that 9/11 belongs to people.
From my end, I will do my best to show this painting to as many people as possible so that the memory of those, who lost their lives, will always be alive.
