This bronze sculpture was the first piece that I created in the months following September 11, 2001. Over the years, it stood in my studio as a constant reminder of the sick feeling in my gut that I felt watching the images streaming on my television. 
Fifteen years later, I felt the urge to work on this piece again. I felt a slight release by adding imagery so burnt into my mind from that horrific day. 

Jami Nix Rahn is an international mixed media artist who has been creating diverse bodies of work for over four decades. She has produced abstract and photorealistic paintings as well as marble and bronze sculptures. Her works merge painting and sculptural boundaries, exploring the mundane's beauty and transcending abstract spiritual value.
