    Statement of Work

This work represents three facets of the World Trade Center:

    (going from Left to Right)
In the first panel, the grandeur and ambitious energy of New York City manifests as a modern twin towered skyscraper. This view of the Twin Towers, photographed from New Jersey, is not often seen, but was a stunning sight as one approached the New York City bound Holland Tunnel from New Jersey.

The fact that the building is framed by the arched, curved roads with a low bridge overhead makes a shape similar to the “big screen” one sees at the Cinema.

In the second panel, photographed shortly after the collapse of the North Tower, and symbolizes our vulnerability to terrorist attacks. New York City has never experienced horror at this scale. Amid the shock and trauma, police, firemen, doctors, nurses and mental health practitioners work around the clock to save as many innocent victims as they can.

2606 victims perished at the WTC site.
Wikipedia describes this “The attacks on the World Trade Center made 9/11 the “deadliest act of terrorism in human history.”

The last panel shows the Tribute In Light memorial in lights: the light beams mimic the Twin Towers, but also remind us of the temporal qualities of everything in this world. According to the 9/11 Memorial &  Museum Website, “It has become an iconic symbol that both honors those killed and celebrates the unbreakable spirit of New York.”

It is a symbol of mourning for those innocent victims who perished from the terrorist attack; it also signifies a resilient attitude;  truly, if you can “make it there (NYC) you can make it anywhere.”

This spirited rebuke shows. that when many put their mind to it,
    anything is possible.

I photographed, designed, wrote and produced a photo book
“The Human Spectrum:Coming of Age With Autism”. It tells of young men and women who are taking on adult life who are aging out of publicly provided support and are attempting to become independent without the structure of support.

I have a strong interest in portraiture, live performance, architecture and the outdoors.  I love cities, and have grown to love the wild and untamed spaces of nature.

My heart goes out to the first responders and mental health professionals who run toward difficult situations. I admire their courage and compassion.

My work has been exhibited at The School of Visual Arts Gallery, The People Magazine Photo Gallery, the Soho Photo Gallery,
and the Arts & Culture Alliance Gallery of Greater Knoxville.

I work in photography and videography and have worked for many well known national magazines as a senior retoucher and videography.
